PINEDALE, NM - The Pinedale Chapter, CHR and Senior Center came together and hosted a community Thanksgiving dinner that took place on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Pinedale Chapter House in Pinedale, New Mexico. "We were in agreement to have the event as a drive-thru event due to the capacity limit under the Navajo Nation Health order" said Titus Nez, CSC for Pinedale Chapter.
All 110 chapters were under Navajo Nation Health Order indicating that certain COVID-19 restrictions were in place to ensure community and public safety this included 50% capacity in the Chapter and mandated mask use. As of November 14, 2022 the Navajo Nation removed the capacity limit, indicating that COVID restrictions would be eased. After this new public health order was issued the chapter made the decision to open the chapter meeting hall for the event. As of Friday, the total amount of people in the chapter number at 40. The event was held with success and appreciation from attendees.
"We are looking forward to the Christmas holidays, this year we plan to open the chapter once more and give away gifts and serve a delicious dinner" says Titus Nez. It has been two years since the Chapter was able to host in a in-person dinner. ##
